As an out of state resident, I had great concerns about building a home 500 miles from Cincinnati. After designing the home with our architect, our next step was to hire a builder I could trust. In 2003 I built a home in Harbor Springs, for which Tom DeJong artistically did all of the woodwork. As the home is a log and cedar home with extensive woodwork, Tom was the key element in the design.

The work in the home is spectacular. Tom and his employees did a fabulous job with the woodwork, cabinetry, steps and fabulous bookshelves. The work was so spectacular the home was featured in the magazine Luxury Log Homes and Time Frame, Fall 2005.

When guests enter my home the first thing they comment on is the woodwork and the attention to detail. Tom listened to what was desired and the end result was perfect. I originally had purchased some pre-made cabinetry for the living room next to the fireplace. After it arrived, I realized that Tom’s work was so far superior; I removed the cabinetry and asked Tom to build the units. Once again his work was spectacular.

Not only was Tom’s craftsmanship of the highest element, his honesty and integrity are equally as high. I feel very comfortable allowing Tom and his employee’s entrance into my home at anytime when I am not there. He works with complete care to assure the work place is always clean. You hardly know he was there!

I have known Mr. Dejonge for approximately five years. He has worked on several projects at my homes in Michigan, helping with the design and building phases. His workmanship is of the highest quality, and his honesty is beyond reproach. I have always found Tom to be hard-working and dedicated to his craft.
